In the Giudicarie, where the valleys of Trentino narrow between the Alps, a family has been working with wood for over one hundred and seventy years. Five generations, a workshop founded in the mid-nineteenth century, and an idea of windows and doors that has never stopped being built by hand.
Every window or door begins with choosing the right wood. At Falegnameria Bomè, material selection is the first act of any project: larch, wood-aluminium, species chosen according to the demands of context and climate. There is no standard model, because every commission answers to a specific place, a specific exposure, a specific family.
At a workbench like this one, in the early twentieth century, Pietro Bomè honed the craft of carpenter and carver in Praso (a village in Trentino). From that workshop came a rare continuity: five generations of the same family, from Adolfo in the 1950s to Susi, Sabrina and Ivano, who today run a modern facility without ever abandoning work done by hand.
Glass, wood, aluminium: in Bomè's windows and doors, every material is chosen for its performance and for how it responds to light. The wood-aluminium combination, requested by customers for both appearance and durability, is produced on automated lines that reduce waste and turnaround time without sacrificing artisan finishing.
