ristorazione — Vado Ligure · Liguria
In Vado Ligure, where the Riviera di Ponente opens onto the wide sea of the Savona coast, Domo Mea brings an unexpected dialogue to the table: Ligurian and Sardinian cuisine, two Mediterranean traditions sharing the salt of the sea and the generosity of the land.
Once past the threshold on via Ferraris 101, the atmosphere is that of a place with no hurry to impress: clean, intimate, with a homely air that reviews describe as immediate. Staff welcome guests with care, the owner is present in the dining room, and the kindness mentioned time and again by past guests is not a formula but the recognisable trait of the place.
The menu changes every two or three months, following the seasonality of ingredients. During the week, lunch follows an affordable fixed menu; on weekends the offer widens with a fuller card. Among the themed evenings, the Sardinian ones — culurgiones, cured meats, cheeses, suckling pig and seadas — have the rhythm of an eagerly awaited ritual that brings guests back to their tables.
Behind the stoves, the work is that of someone who selects before cooking: the freshest ingredients, every dish prepared with care. From the sea come the crudi and fish specialities; from Sardinian tradition, the baccalà al mirto (salt cod with myrtle), which one review flags as not to be missed. The peppered mussels fried with trofie — stars of the tasting evenings — close the circle between the two cuisines.
