Porto Corsini opens onto Ravenna's port canal and the Adriatic, but just steps from the water a different rhythm takes over: that of hooves on the sand of the arena and a horse's breath in the morning air. Golden Horse is the equestrian reference point for the province.
Along the stable corridor, the boxes open one after another toward the light of the arena: this is where Golden Horse's teaching programmes take shape, spanning western riding and English riding. First-time riders and experienced horse-and-rider pairs share the same spaces, each following their own programme, in a centre designed to welcome every level of training.
The leather saddles hanging on the wall tell the story of the centre's dual nature on their own: the western saddle, tall with its horn, and the flat English saddle built for competition. Golden Horse's riders bring both disciplines to competition — eventing, show jumping, gymkhana — and take part in the Campionati Libertas (Libertas Championships), putting their daily work in the stable to the test in the field.
The bench in front of the lockers is where primary school children sit before meeting a horse for the first time. Golden Horse dedicates a programme of playful, educational riding to them: an approach designed to build trust, coordination and respect for the animal, developed in direct partnership with schools across the Ravenna area.
From the stables to the open arena, through to the season's trophies: the page details the programmes, disciplines and competition calendar at Golden Horse.
