In Santo Stefano di Camastra, on the Sicilian Tyrrhenian coast where colourful ceramics mark every doorway and every façade, Catanzaro Hair & Beauty has, since 1984, been home to another form of craftsmanship: one practised on hair, on faces and on hands, carried forward with the continuity of a family.
Antonio Catanzaro opened the salon in 1984, at twenty-two, after formative experiences in Messina, Turin, Ischia and Naples. Forty years on, that project still stands and has grown: today the salon is run together with his children Danilo and Elisa, who inherited the craft and have each steered it toward distinct specialities, each recognised in its own field.
Elisa Catanzaro oversees the salon's beauty side: a graduate of the Accademia di Trucco Professionale (Professional Make-up Academy) in Rome and trained under Rossano de Cesaris, she specialises in bridal make-up and occasion styling. Alongside this she offers a full range of nail art — from tip-and-overlay reconstruction to semi-permanent gel — and a series of beauty treatments designed for every occasion.
Danilo has built his own speciality over time: courses with international masters such as Georgy Kot, Antonina Romanova and Jemshit Mavlyanov, and the title of Miglior Parrucchiere d'Italia (Best Hairdresser in Italy) 2023. In the salon he works mainly on colour and occasion styling, where every detail — as clients note — is handled with the precision and care of made-to-measure work.
