In Anderlecht, in a district where Brussels grows quieter, a familiar sign has kept a piece of Sicily for years: arancini, cannoli, almond pastries and the patience of someone who cooks the way it's done at home.
In 2017 a Sicilian family opened its doors on Rue du Broeck, in Anderlecht, with a clear goal: to bring the island's authentic flavours to the heart of Brussels. Since then the sign has stayed the same, and so has the bond with home recipes.
Behind the counter come arancini filled with various flavours, ricotta cannoli, cassatine and almond pastries made according to traditional recipes. It's a miniature showcase of Sicily: every product made with care, available for takeaway or home delivery, at prices customers call Italian.
In the kitchen the chef doesn't stop at the established repertoire: he constantly experiments with new combinations of flavours and tastes, without ever losing the thread of tradition. The sixty and forty centimetre pizza plateaux, designed for parties, anniversaries and receptions, have become one of the restaurant's signature offerings.
