In the Brenta Valley, where the Trentino Alps mark the boundary between stone and sky, Calchèra San Giorgio has spent time since 2007 studying the ancient recipes of building and translating them into living materials: lime mixes, mortars and plasters that speak the language of historic walls.
On the work bench, Calce Pozzolanica Pantheon (Pantheon Pozzolanic Lime) takes shape: air lime and natural pozzolana mixed cold, with no firing and no chemical additives. A formula that revives the binders of the ancient Romans and carries them into contemporary structural restoration sites, where compatibility with historic masonry and the reversibility of every intervention are never negotiable.
Gesture lies at the heart of the method: Calchèra San Giorgio has founded a Scuola d'arte muraria (school of wall-building craft) where restoration professionals learn to apply traditional mortars using the very techniques that produced them. Training here is not an accessory service, but proof that a material is only as good as the hands that know how to use it.
The Linea Opus (Opus Line) gathers the entire sequence of a building site: rough coats, plasters, finishing renders, smoothing layers and damp-proofing systems for humid masonry. Every product is formulated with pure lime and natural pozzolanas, designed to breathe, to give way before the stone does, and to leave historic walls intact. A catalogue that is also a manifesto of biocompatibility.
