ristorazione — Cinquefrondi · Calabria
Among the hills overlooking the Piana di Gioia Tauro, in Cinquefrondi, Matteo Bulzomi carries forward the art of artisan pastry-making with the discretion of someone working for his town before the market.
Cinquefrondi rises among the foothills of the Aspromonte, where the Piana di Gioia Tauro climbs toward the sky. In this Calabrian village, Matteo Bulzomi chose to open the doors of an artisan pastry shop bearing his name: a place where the craft is handed down with care, and the threshold is already an invitation.
The counter is the heart of every bar-pasticceria (café-pastry shop) in the South: it's here that the quality of whoever stands behind it is measured. At Pasticceria Bulzomi, the counter tells, every morning, the story of the day's production — Calabrian sweets, leavened pastries, aromas that mingle with the coffee — in a daily ritual that belongs to the life of the town.
Before the town wakes, the kitchen is already at work. The artisan pastry-making begins with precise gestures and carefully chosen ingredients: doughs, creams, glazes and fillings that take shape in the quiet hours of the morning. It is in this space, away from customers' eyes, that the character of what will be displayed is decided.
In the page you'll find the address, contact details and everything this Calabrian pastry shop has to offer, one sweet at a time.
