In the historic heart of Florence, just steps from the Basilica di Santa Croce, a Venetian name has safeguarded the glassmaking tradition of Murano since 1989: blown at the heat of the furnaces, shaped according to age-old gestures, and brought to the centre of Tuscany with the care of someone who personally knows and selects every artisan on the island.
Every piece on display carries the mark of a craft that has never given in to mass production. Since 1989, Alvise Giustinian has personally selected, from among the artisans of Murano, the pieces that enter the showroom: Rezzonico chandeliers with colourful flowers and gold-leaf decorations, papier-mâché masks, mirrors, sculptures and decorative objects — each one strictly made in Italy, strictly Venetian.
Murano glass is born blown and shaped at the heat of the furnaces, following the ancient Venetian glassmaking tradition: a gesture kept alive for centuries on the lagoon island, found again in every form on display in Florence. In the chandeliers, available in various sizes and colours, in the glass jewellery for women and men — rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, pendants — in the sculptures blown to order.
A hundred square metres of exhibition space just steps from Santa Croce host a kaleidoscope of shapes and colours: Rezzonico chandeliers, artistic mirrors, blown glass sculptures, exclusive jewellery. The light passing through Murano glass speaks for itself of the mastery of the Venetian furnaces — and of the passion with which every piece has been chosen, personally, among the island's artisans.
