In the Ragusa area, where the microclimate of the coastal strip gives produce just the right degree of savoriness and crunch, Albani OP has spent over sixty years building a cooperative born from the will of a family of farmers from southeastern Sicily.
Founded in the 1960s by a family of experienced farmers, Albani OP built its identity on hard work and mutual trust. Across greenhouse crops, open-field cultivation and vineyards, the cooperative today represents a solid reality: 95 member farms and 280 hectares cultivated across southeastern Sicily.
The strength of Albani OP lies in aggregation: the cooperative brings together producers who share the same philosophy, that of an ethical and sustainable agriculture, supported by innovative technological systems alongside traditional farming knowledge. Every day, over a thousand quintals of produce are processed, from datterino tomatoes to eggplant, from peppers to courgettes.
The work of the fields translates into product lines designed to showcase each variety: I Tradizionali, Gli Assoluti and Melanzì, dedicated to the region's eggplants. Quality is guaranteed along the entire supply chain by a system of certifications including IFS Food, GlobalGAP, GRASP, Organic, and the Improved Sustainability Gold certification.
