In the heart of the Parma plain, in San Secondo Parmense, a place that brings together a coffee bar, artisan gelato and a workshop of lievitati (leavened baked goods) under one roof — and under the same daily care.
On viale Matteotti, in the centre of San Secondo Parmense, Al Caffè della Stazione is one of those places you recognise before even stepping inside: the open door, the scent of coffee and freshly baked lievitati, a welcome that extends to dogs too, who are spontaneously offered bowls of fresh water.
The counter tells the whole story at a glance: artisan gelato made on the premises, available in numerous flavours, fresh granite particularly appreciated in the warmer months, and the display case of house-made lievitati — panettoni above all — that return punctually for every occasion.
Behind the counter is a working laboratory: ice cream cakes and semifreddi are made to order, and in season tall-crust pizza is added to the list, also available by reservation. An in-house production that covers everything sweet from breakfast to late evening, with no reliance on outside suppliers for its signature items.
