In the hills overlooking Lake Garda, at Lonato del Garda, Villa Gaia is a recently built agriturismo (farm stay) where cultivated land and hospitality meet with restraint. A place best discovered slowly.
From the hills sloping down toward Lake Garda, Villa Gaia opens onto a horizon of water that shifts colour with the hours. Lonato del Garda is minutes away, Desenzano a little further: the property occupies a rare position, set apart from traffic yet at the heart of a rich territory.
One hectare of land cultivated without chemical fertilisers, left to follow the rhythm of the seasons: rows of lavender, medicinal plants and vegetables grow according to the pace of the territory. From this garden come syrup, hydrolat, essential oil and lavender salt, alongside fruit preserves, all available to guests.
The rooms, new and comfortable, also welcome guests' pets. At the table, produce arrives from the Bedoschi Alessia farm: the family-run management shows in the attention to detail and in a welcome that several reviews describe as genuine and attentive, from breakfast through to dinner.
