Between Lake Trasimeno and Lake Chiusi, where Umbria fades into Tuscany, a stone-and-brick farmhouse built over two levels opens onto a gentle landscape of hills. I Romiti is a working farm and guesthouse reached along country roads, and it offers more than it promises.
From the windowsill, a landscape unfolds that belongs to both regions: the hills of Umbria on one side, Tuscany just beyond the border on the other. The farmhouse is a quiet base for those who want to explore: Perugia, Assisi, Cortona and Siena are about an hour away by car, while the medieval villages of Castiglione del Lago, Città della Pieve and Panicale are even closer.
The grounds are designed for lingering: a swimming pool, tennis court, five-a-side football pitch, bocce court and archery range sit alongside a children's play area and bicycles available to guests. Each apartment has its own private garden fitted with a table, chairs and grill — a space with direct access to the outdoors, where time slows down without needing to go anywhere else.
The property comprises five double rooms with air conditioning and a fridge, and four apartments with kitchenette, each different in colour and size, for a total of twenty-seven beds. The restaurant La Locanda del Romito serves Umbrian-Tuscan cuisine made with the farm's own produce: extra virgin olive oil, wine, Vin Santo, vegetables, legumes and meats.
