Among the hills overlooking Orvieto, the Belcapo family has kept, for more than five generations, an old agricultural estate born between the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century: three stone farmhouses restored in the classic rustic Umbrian style, where the silence of the countryside and the view of the city hold each other in balance.
From the windows of the farmhouses, the Duomo of Orvieto rises on its cliff like a Gothic apparition: the cathedral is only a few kilometres away, yet from here it seems part of the natural landscape, suspended among the Umbrian hills. The ten rooms — spread across the three buildings in Classic, Standard and Superior types — were designed to keep that view at the centre of every stay.
The panoramic pool opens onto the same view of the Duomo, turning the afternoon into a contemplative pause among the hills. On the same grounds, the stables with paddock and show-jumping arena are home to an active riding school: equestrian tourism routes that lead into the Umbrian countryside on horseback, at a pace no other speed can render with the same fidelity.
The morning begins with breakfast prepared by Fiammetta: produce from the farm and the Umbrian territory, cooked with the care of someone who knows the origin of every ingredient. The same attention has animated, for more than thirty years, the restaurant La Tavernetta, where dishes of Umbrian tradition are served with continuity and with fidelity to a table that follows roots rather than trends.
