In the Alto Casertano, on the border between Campania, Lazio and Molise, the hazelnut groves of Bosco Farneto have been farmed organically for more than thirty years. Carlo Puca has turned a farm dating back to the 1970s into a place where the Apennine landscape becomes tangible hospitality.
The window looks out onto the profile of the Apennines and the volcanic complex of Roccamonfina, at a privileged point where Campania, Lazio and Molise meet. This corner of the Alto Casertano has remained unspoiled: the hazelnut groves, organic-certified since the mid-1990s, shape the landscape and speak to the farm's original vocation, dating back to the 1970s.
From the balcony, a generously sized garden opens up: a rose garden, swings, an inflatable carousel, a trampoline and a volleyball net make up a space designed for families with children. The educational farm with animals and the entertainment staff round out an offer that turns a stay into an open-air experience, among meadows and rolling green hills.
The rooms, spread across the main building and outbuildings, wake to the silence of the hazelnut groves. At the table, the kitchen carefully reworks Campanian tradition, drawing on the farm's own zero-kilometre produce: generous portions, certified organic wholesomeness, ingredients that travel only a few metres from field to kitchen. A simple, well-grounded register, borne out consistently by guest reviews.
Bosco Farneto is best discovered up close, among the hazelnut groves and Campanian cooking. The full page has rooms, menus and availability.
