Our Story

The opening of Angelo's Brick Oven Pizzeria in November 2017 was a dream come true for Angelo Catalano.

Born in Piazza Armerina, Sicily, food, family and friends have always held great importance to Angelo.

Angelo and his sister spent hours around the table eating Mama's and Nonna's favorite recipes and in their Dad's deli gaining an appreciation for quality ingredients, proven recipes and delicious food!

At a tender age, Angelo donned an apron and worked in the kitchen honing his skills as a chef and his LOVE of food!

Moving to California and working in the food industry for over 15 years, he has earned a reputation for his excellent customer service, attention to detail and personal and friendly personality.

When Angelo began planning his restaurant, he wanted to create a restaurant that was casual, warm and inviting serving the best Italian food, brick oven pizza and homemade pasta, fresh salads and other delicacies.

The Italian deli offers high-quality meats, cheeses and generous take out meals.

Mijn naam is Jip van Putten. Ik ben in 1990 in Naarden geboren en in 1994 verhuisd naar Italië, waar ik 20 jaar ben blijven wonen.

Toen ik in 2014 terugkwam naar Nederland heb ik met mij ook de passie voor de Italiaanse keuken meegenomen. Wat ik meteen besefte, is dat er zeer weinig Italiaanse restaurants te vinden zijn die de gerechten voorbereiden op traditionele wijze zoals ze dat in Italië doen.

Het idee om de gerechten, zoals ik ze vele jaren heb gegeten en mee ben opgegroeid, aan tafel te serveren in Nederland is een droom geworden.

En dat is precies wat wij nu gaan doen bij La Casina! Met mijn rechterhand Luca Costali en een team gepassioneerde Italianen in de keuken laten wij de gasten zien, proeven en beleven hoe die gerechten van originele en verse Italiaanse producten écht horen te zijn. En dat het dan niet uitmaakt of je in Italië bij een trattoria eet of bij ons in het restaurant in Huizen. Die echte Italiaanse beleving creëren we met passie en liefde voor authentiek Italiaans eten.

Alles op onze menukaart is zelf gemaakt of wordt direct vanuit Italië geleverd. Van de vleeswaren en de kazen tot de verse truffels of huisgemaakte pasta’s, alles wordt geproduceerd met liefde en respect voor dieren, de natuur en Italiaanse traditie.
