Wir haben unser erstes Restaurant (Zi Teresa) 1986 in Preetz eröffnet und es 21 Jahre lang geführt. Danach eröffneten wir ein Eiscafé und Ende 2011 eröffneten wir das Restaurant „Claudio" in Preetz mit Eis und Kaffeespezialitäten und italienischer Küche mit ausgewählten Produkten. Unsere Gerichte werden immer frisch zubereitet und mit frischen Kräutern verfeinert. Wir bieten ebenfalls ein reichhaltiges Sortiment an Weinen an und beraten sie gerne bei der Auswahl. Engagieren Sie unsere Küche für ein raffiniertes Catering oder Buffet.
About Us
Established in 1987, we are an independent, family run traditional Italian restaurant
based at the start of Compstall Road in Romiley, Stockport. Specialising in rustic Italian
home style cooking, open evenings only - 5pm till 10pm everyday except Monday.
Who is the Italian?
Originally from Naples, owner Ferdinando Mercogliano studied at catering schools in Vico Equense and in the centre of Naples before working across Italy and Switzerland, settling in England in the early 80’s.
Our recipes and the ideology behind everything we do and make come from Ferdinando. Many of the dishes we make here today are made the same way that he learnt from his mother and grandmother. Hailing from a part of Naples famous for its pasta making history, cooking is in the Mercogliano family blood.
Now a grandfather, Ferdinando is based both here in Stockport and in Lucca, Tuscany. Sharing his time between Italy and England means Ferdinando guarantees constant fresh and original menu ideas, using the best local and seasonal ingredients. Trusting the day to day running of the kitchen to a carefully selected fantastic team of chefs.
In charge of the restaurant you will find his eldest son Alessandro. A true typical Italian family business!
Ferdinando's deep passion for Italian cooking is infectious and it has truly passed down in the generations of his family. Our heads, hands and hearts are firmly in the kitchen and we are driven to offer customers good food, value for money and a true taste of Italy.
Now well into our 37th year of trading here in Romiley, we are more passionate than ever for what we do. We have recently expanded, and we now have 8 more tables in a new downstairs area. Complete with another bar, facilities and our usual friendly service.
Our philosophy is simplicity, quality, authenticity and big flavours, in a fun and bustling typical southern Italian environment. With us you will always be guests and never customers. Learning and growing day by day, we are truly humbled by your regular custom.

Nel cuore di Amaseno, il Bar Tabacchi Scacco Matto è il luogo perfetto per iniziare la giornata con una colazione speciale. Ogni mattina sforniamo brioche fresche, da gustare con un caffè cremoso o un cappuccino preparato a regola d’arte.

Scacco Matto è aperto dal mattino fino alla sera per accompagnarvi in ogni momento della giornata. A pranzo e a cena vi deliziamo con panini, pizze e hamburger preparati con ingredienti di qualità. La nostra pizza, fatta in casa con impasti fragranti e farciture gustose, è una delle specialità più apprezzate.
E se avete voglia di un aperitivo in compagnia nel nostro locale per un brindisi tra amici o festeggiare un’occasione speciale, vi aspettiamo con ottimi taglieri di salumi e formaggi, pizze calde e cocktail!

Das Ristorante Pizzeria La Favola wurde 2010 von Mauro Marzoli gegründet. Im Oktober 2021 fand ein Generationenwechsel statt, bei dem Alejandro, der Schwiegersohn, das Restaurant übernommen hat. Seine Frau Luana ist für den Service verantwortlich. Gemeinsam haben wir zum Ziel, dass unsere Gäste das Lokal zufrieden und mit einem Lächeln verlassen können.
Unsere Räumlichkeiten versprühen mit den Steinmauern und Terraccottaziegeln ein warmes und rustikales Ambiente. Freundlichkeit gegenüber den Gästen liegt uns am Herzen. Im Innenbereich bieten wir Platz für bis zu 60 Personen. Im Sommer laden wir auch auf der Terrasse im kühlenden Schatten der Bäume ein. Für Kinder steht ein Spielplatz zur Verfügung.

Locanda Sainte Sophie è un ristorante italiano, ma prima di tutto, è una storia d’amore culinaria
tramandatami da mia nonna e da mia mamma.
Sì, proprio una storia d’amore che voglio condividere con voi.
Essendo nato in sud Italia ho molto rispetto per i valori della tradizione, la qualità delle materie prime, le ricette regionali, ma anche un pizzico di innovazione.

Zu Meiner Geschichte
Meine Geschichte, wie ich zur Kochkunst gekommen bin. An dieser Stelle möchte ich euch erzählen, von wem ich die Liebe und Wertschätzung zur Kochkunst gelernt habe.
Locanda Sainte Sophie ist ein italienisches Restaurant - aber vor allem ist es eine kulinarische Liebesgeschichte, die bereits von meiner Großmutter an meine Mutter weitergegeben wurde und damit in der 3. Generation von mir weitergeführt wird - es handelt sich um wahre
Liebe zur Kochkunst, die von Generation zu Generation weitervererbt wurde.
Aufgewachsen in Süditalien, lernte ich schon von meiner Mutter Sofia, die auch die Namensgeberin meines Restaurants ist, als auch von meiner Großmutter, den Umgang mit und die Wertschätzung von regionalen Produkten und Geschmäckern kennen.
Ich möchte euch von ganzem Herzen meine Erinnerungen an die Tradition der süditalienischen Küche weitergeben.
