The family-run deli & trattoria is located in the heart of Whitley Bay, offering Italian tapas, pasta, pizza and street food in the restaurant, on the alfresco terrace or as take away.
Open throughout the day and evening, Pranzo works closely with local producers, as well as speciality Italian artisans, to create a menu that can be enjoyed by all of the family. The wine list is sourced directly from Italian vineyards featuring classics such as Vermentino Toscano, Chianti Classico , Aglianico Porconero and Cannonau Dolinova.
Tuscan-born, Pablo, has spent over 20 years in the food and wine industry in Italy and here in the North East. Together with his wife Louise, they have created Pranzo to showcase mouth-watering family recipes using the highest quality ingredients. Pablo and Louise’s vision for Pranzo is to create a casual and friendly space, where authentic Italian cuisine can be enjoyed with family and friends.

La Valle Varaita è un luogo magico e romantico al tempo stesso, dove la natura pervade ogni angolo, cambia con le stagioni offrendo sempre colori e sensazioni straordinarie. Proprio questa natura ha conquistato il nostro cuore e la nostra anima e ci ha spinti in questa bellissima avventura dell’Ostu dal Casalot.
Circa due anni fa abbiamo deciso di recuperare un casolare, ricordo di un’infanzia trascorsa in queste terre, per dare vita al nostro sogno. L’Ostu dal Casalot è immerso nella più autentica natura montana e si affaccia ad un panorama mozzafiato che vi farà dimenticare tutto. Un luogo sensoriale interamente dedicato al relax e alla pace.
L'idea
Solo chi ha vissuto ed è cresciuto in questa valle, nella cultura occitana, riuscirà a farvi scoprire davvero i luoghi e le tradizioni locali, facendovi vivere lo stesso spirito e le stesse emozioni di chi ogni giorno si sveglia in questa terra.
La cultura occitana è fortemente radicata e connessa con la valle Varaita, il suo profondo sentimento, che risale a più di 2000 anni fa, si respira tra le vie di alcuni dei borghi più belli d’Italia.

The Restaurant
Situated on the bustling Glasgow Road and just a stone’s throw from Barshaw Park, Caffé Royale has become a thriving destination for excellent Italian cuisine in Paisley and beyond.
Established in 2016 but overseen as a family run operation since 2019, the restaurant pulls off the impressive feat of being stylish and contemporary while retaining a transportive quaintness which will immerse everyone that enters in the joy of the dining experience.

Our Head Chef
After undertaking a professional pilgrimage in the 1980’s, head chef Colin Guthrie has immersed himself in the traditions and techniques of the mediterranean nation of Italy.
An enthusiastic student of his craft who learned under the tutelage of Sicilian chefs in Corleone, this all important period of hands-on training was supplemented by spending time in the markets of Palermo and getting a rare glimpse into the homespun methods of the mamma’s and nonna’s whose tried and tested methods have fed generations of families.
Inspired by the teachings of the old country, there is nothing mass-produced about what we do. Everything is cooked to order and as such, patience can often be a virtue as we always strive to deliver the most rewarding and flavourful visit that we can.

Fusing the best local produce with select important items which imbue our food with the unmistakable quality of genuine Italian cooking, it goes without saying that no matter what time you pop in and what menu you choose to eat from, we prioritise freshness and always strive to outdo ourselves.
